OMAHA Gives!

As I look back over my first few weeks as Project Coordinator here at The Kim Foundation, I am overwhelmed by the positivity of the people and organizations we are able to work with every day. When your days are centered on suicide prevention and mental illness, it is easy to let these difficult topics overcome your thoughts and emotions.

While the fight against the stigma around mental illness is an ongoing one, I find it very inspiring that there are so many groups and organizations that are fighting on the front line with us! Next Wednesday, May 21st marks Omaha Community Foundation’s second annual “OMAHA Gives” charitable challenge, where have 24 hours to support your favorite nonprofits by making a donation of $10 or more. To make your gifts go further, OCF has secured $102,000 in prize money for the nonprofits that receive the most support!

There are a handful of nonprofits that are working towards our mission registered for the event this year. Some of these organizations include NAMI Nebraska, RESEPCT, Project Harmony, YES, Heartland Family Services, Completely KIDS, NE Children Home Society and the Methodist Hospital Foundation. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to show your support for these much needed services!
