Across Nebraska, consumers, family members, legislators, healthcare
providers, corporate leaders, and representatives from public and
non-profit agencies are joining together to improve mental/behavioral
health care in Nebraska. The partnerships highlighted below recognize
the power of teamwork and work to address issues specific to individual
communities as well as our state as a whole.

Building Bright Futures - Building Bright
Futures is an Omaha based initiative focused on providing educational
excellence and equity for Douglas and Sarpy County youth. Formed in
April of 2007, Building Bright Futures has developed six core areas of
interest to include: Making the Most of Early Childhood; Providing
Academic Support and Career Awareness; After-School Mentoring and
Tutoring for Excellence; Reducing Truancy and Recovering Lost Youth;
Addressing Adolescent Behavioral Health; and Financing Higher Education.

Children's Services Initiative Coalition - The Children’s Services Initiative Coalition began meeting out of concern for children’s mental health and substance abuse services. Bringing attention to both disparities in the system as well as the pain and suffering families endure in the fight for recovery, the Children’s Services Initiative assists in letting the voices of those individuals most affected by mental illness be heard. Coalition for the Advancement of Children’s Mental Health - The Coalition for the Advancement of Children’s Mental Health (CACMH) is a collaboration of over 30 metro Omaha agencies that work to promote the development of a comprehensive, coordinated system of care addressing the social and emotional needs of young children and their families. Coercion Free Nebraska (CFN) - Coercion Free Nebraska (CFN) is a coalition committed to improving behavioral health care for youth across Nebraska. With a vision for all providers to adopt a trauma-informed system of care, Nebraska’s Coercion Free initiative coincides with a national model. Each initiative aims to prevent and reduce the practice of using seclusion, restraint and other restrictive interventions in residential youth facilities across Nebraska and the United States. More
Nebraska Association of Behavioral Health Organizations (NABHO) - The Nebraska Association of Behavioral Health Organizations (NABHO) exists to actively promote sound, responsive, efficient, and effective substance abuse and mental health services for the people of Nebraska. NABHO is comprised of representatives from various community behavioral health organizations throughout the state. More
Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition (NSSPC) - The Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition (NSSPC) was formed in 1999 and began implementing suicide prevention efforts in conjunction with the Surgeon General’s call to action to prevent suicide. More
