Ginny Wright, Regional Consumer Specialist for Region V, is seeking consumers and family members who are interested in working together on various projects. In addition to the Advisory Team representation from throughout Region V, she is seeking individuals willing to address LR 205, a legislative resolution to assess behavioral health reform in Nebraska.

A writing coach and lobbyist will be available to work with the group to maximize its efforts. If you have never written letters to the editor, prepared testimony, or given testimony to a legislative hearing committee, now is a great time to begin!

It is essential that "facts from the folks" are provided addressing what the policies, practices, and procedures are doing to behavioral health access, community supports, meaningful consumer & family involvement at all levels of the behavioral health service delivery system, and the possibility of recovery. Data will need to be collected stating where recovery model techniques are or are not being practiced and recommendations will need to be provided to correct the system problems identified.

People from all 16 counties in Region V are encouraged to participate.
