Clubhouses are being called the hottest
trend in mental illness recovery. In Nebraska two clubhouse
models are located throughout the state.
Scottsbluff, Nebraska is the home of Cirrus
House, a club for people who experience serious mental illness.
With a mission focused on providing quality of life and independence
for people disabled by mental illness in the Nebraska Panhandle,
Cirrus House provides assistance through advocacy, housing,
employment and education. Additionally, members have access
to an individual available for assistance 24 hours each day,
transportation, meals, socials, and medication support.
Cirrus House is open to anyone who has a
history of mental illness and meets the admission criteria
of the program. Like a family, there is no time limit on belonging;
membership is for life.
