Applying a Theory of Change Approach to Interagency Planning in Child Mental Health

Lutheran Family Services (LFS) Receives $110,700 from Region II Human Services To Help the Mentally Ill
January 18, 2006 (North Platte, NE) - In 2005, the Nebraska Legislature provided Affordable Housing Trust Fund monies to Region II Human Services to be used to construct or rehabilitate housing for low-income adults with serious mental illness. Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) was recently awarded $110,700 of those funds to help construct a new 10-unit apartment complex, named Josiah Place, in North Platte, Nebraska. Josiah Place will be home to low-income persons with serious mental illness.

“There is a tremendous need for the Josiah Place apartment complex in North Platte,” said Dave Lund, LFS Regional Director. “There are many persons living with a serious mental illness who are quite capable of living on their own, but who lack the resources required to rent apartments elsewhere. Josiah Place will provide housing within walking distance of many of the services these individuals will need.”

Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska anticipates breaking ground for Josiah Place in early spring.
