Recognizing that no individual is immune to mental illness, no community is
left untouched, The Kim Foundation strives to build a united, comprehensive
response to assist children, adults, and families in achieving health, healing,
and recovery.
Working to ensure that no one in need of services is denied them, The Kim
Foundation serves as a communication link between individuals, families, and
organizations. The Kim Foundation moves to reduce the stigma often associated
with seeking mental health care and promotes that with help comes hope.
The driving force of The Kim Foundation is a strong desire to address the needs
identified by individuals and families touched by mental illness and make
certain that their voices are heard. Community forums, public radio broadcast,
and private speaking engagements are hosted by
The Kim Foundation to alert
public officials, policy makers, service providers, and other individuals and
families touched by mental illness of the impact the disease has on lives and
the possibilities of recovery. Scholarship funds awarded
by The Kim Foundation allow consumers and professionals to attend national
conferences, acquire new knowledge, and share such findings with others in the
mental health community.
The Kim Foundation is sponsored by the Larry and Kathy Courtnage family and
their associates at C&A
Industries, Inc. as a way of giving back to the community and setting a
corporate example of leadership towards change in the mental health field.
