NASW-NE Annual Conference

Two internationally known experts on sex therapy, sexual health, and the prevention of sexual exploitation will keynote this year’s NASW annual conference Friday, October 10, 2008, at The LaVista Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center, 12520 Westport Parkway, LaVista, Nebraska.

Dr. Marty Klein has been a Licensed Counselor and Sex Therapist for 24 years. He has aimed his entire career toward a single set of goals: telling the truth about sexuality, helping people feel sexually adequate & powerful, and supporting the healthy sexual expression and exploration of women and men.

Dr. Klein pursues his goal of a sexually enlightened world through therapy, lectures, writing, lobbying, and media work. He has published over 100 articles in magazines such as New Woman, and Parents. He is a former contributing editor to The New Physician, American Baby, Modern Bride, and Men's Guide to Fashion, and he is quoted every year in dozens of other publications. Dr. Klein has written five, critically acclaimed books, including his most recent America’s War on Sex: The Attack on Law, Lust and Liberty.

For 30 years, Cordelia Anderson has worked to prevent harm and promote healthy development. She has counseled sex offenders, survivors, women in prostitution and families of missing and murdered children. Prior to1992 when she founded a training and consultation business in Minneapolis, she used theater for prevention and co-authored plays. Ms. Anderson has conducted over 1,900 presentations nationwide on topics such as: prevention of child sexual exploitation, sexual health, bullying, impact of technology, restorative justice and compassion fatigue. She is on the Board of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and chairs their National Coalition for Prevention of Child Sexual Exploitation. She is the recipient of various awards including most recently the 2006 Outstanding Professional Award from American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children. Cordelia consults with programs locally and nationally and appeared on a variety of news and talk shows including Oprah.
