Hill Day 2016

Earlier this month I joined seven fellow Nebraskans on the Hill in Washington, D.C. for the National Council for Behavioral Health’s Hill Day. It was a jam-packed three days of meetings with our delegation, informational sessions with national leaders, networking with peers and colleagues from throughout the country, and advocating for those impacted by behavioral health issues from our community.

What A Month!

We are so humbled by the outpouring of support and feedback that we’ve received this month after all the coverage WOWT provided to build awareness about suicide prevention. Most importantly, I want to thank the survivors, partners, and advocates who gave of their time, and shared their stories (some for the first time) so that others may learn from their experiences.

Hill Day 2015

I’m excited to serve as this year’s National Council Hill Day State Captain for the state of Nebraska, and am grateful for former state senator, and current NABHO Executive Director, Annette Dubas’ help in the process. This year Hill Day will take place October 5th & 6th in Washington, D.C. It’s the biggest behavioral health advocacy event of the year, where hundreds of stakeholders join together to serve people living with mental illness and addictions by urging Congress to support our work.
