In recognition of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, The Kim Foundation sponsored an Art & Creative Writing Contest for students in grades 6 – 12 around the Metro area. We invited students to submit original works of art or creative writing that focused on the theme, “Hope and Healing through Creativity.” We wish to thank all of the students who entered their talented work into this year’s contest. We appreciate the support of the schools for the contest as well. The winners in each category are listed below. By bringing awareness to mental health and suicide prevention to help break down the barriers of stigma, The Kim Foundation continues towards positive change in the mental health field. We hope that through the art and creative writing contest, students were able to share their personal stories to aid in their healing and recovery. We plan to sponsor the contest again next year, so watch for information in future newsletters!
