Get Involved

There are so many exciting things happening at The Kim Foundation, and we encourage you to get involved! Whether it’s sponsoring our upcoming annual luncheon with Patrick Kennedy on October 16, 2018, joining the Metro Area Suicide Prevention Coalition, having us come out and do a presentation, or volunteering for the Metro Area LOSS Team, there is something that is sure to appeal to you! If you are interested, see more information on each opportunity below.

We are proud to have Patrick Kennedy join us as our keynote speaker at our annual luncheon, A Time for Hope & Healing, on October 16 from 11:30am – 1:00pm at Embassy Suites LaVista. Individual seats are available as well as a variety of corporate sponsorships. If your company is looking for a great cause to support or you want more information on how to attend the luncheon, contact us!

Through collaboration with Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare we co-facilitate the Metro Area Suicide Prevention Coalition. This group meets every fourth Tuesday of the month and is working on ways to further suicide prevention initiatives throughout the community. We have active members from each of the Region’s school districts, law enforcement, survivors, providers, faith community, youth serving organizations, and advocates. Anyone with a passion for providing hope and saving lives is welcome.

Our Voice for Hope & Healing program takes us into the community to educate and build awareness around mental health, suicide prevention, community resources, or a combination of all of them. We present to audiences of 5 to 500 (really any number will do!) and are flexible in times that we can come out. These presentations are free to your group and we will even bring resources to provide each attendee. Click here to learn more.

Finally, the Metro Area LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) Team is a program comprised of suicide survivors and clinicians who are dedicated to helping others who have experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide. We work with law enforcement in these efforts and have provided comfort and resources to dozens of grieving families in our area. If you know of a family in need of services, or are interested in serving as a volunteer, please contact us today.

If you would like more information on any of these programs or opportunities please contact Julia Hebenstreit at 402.891.6997 or jhebenstreit@thekimfoundation.org. Thank you in advance for your interest! We couldn’t do what we do without our strong volunteers and partnerships throughout the community. A big thanks you to each of you who are already involved!
